Sources Sought Notice The intent of this Sources Sought Notice is to identify potential Small Businesses especially any SDVOSB offerors capable of providing a Life Instruments Surgical Supplies, or exact equivalent items as listed in the Statement of Need (See Below). These are for the VA Healthcare Center in Philadelphia, PA 19104. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice should demonstrate the firm's ability, capability, and responsibility to provide the principal components of supplies listed in the Statement of Need (See Below). Responses should include the following information: Business name Address Business point of Contact Current Duns Number Authorized distributor letter if respondent is not the manufacturer All information is to be submitted via e-mail at thomas.cossentino@va.gov Information provided will not be returned. All responses shall be in the English Language. Responses are due by 4pm (EST) on 8/20/18. Please include adequate product literature to demonstrate the acceptability of any items, especially proposed equivalents. STATEMENT OF NEED The Ortho Spine Surgical Service has entered a request to have Life Instrument Corporation Rongeurs and Thin-Shaft Osteotomes instruments ordered to accommodate the service in performing Cervical and Lumbar spine procedures. The 8 Kerrison Rongeurs are manually operated instruments used to remove bone/disc matter and soft tissue from the cervical spine. These Rongeurs can be used both left and right handed. They will be used for Anterior Cervical Disc Fusion/Cervical procedures. The 10 Kerrison Rongeurs are manually operated instruments used to remove bone/disc matter and soft tissue from the lumbar spine. These Rongeurs can be used both left and right handed. The Rongeurs can be opened-up for thorough cleaning, decontamination and sterilization. This will prevent infection to the patient. They can also be used for other Orthopedic procedures. They remain a one piece instrument when open for ease of reassembly. The Thin-Shaft Osteotomes are used to remove bone from the Posterior Lumbar Spine and fits between discs. They will be used for Laminectomy/Decompression procedures. These instruments can be used in other Orthopedic procedures as well.
